We're asking all young players to support the Last Saturday tournament by taking part and thus contribute to the development of youth chess in the country!
After we introduced young players to chess at our chess school, we also wanted to give them the opportunity to play games against other young people.
At the first Last Saturday in September 2019 only 7 players showed up, all from our club. However, this quickly changed (even during the period of confinement).
At the last few tournaments we have welcomed around 70 young players from many different clubs to the point where our playing room is starting to get too small to run this tournament on only one day. During season 2023/24, we thus organized two separate tournaments, (U8-U12 / U14-U20) on different dates. During season 2024/2025, we organize the tournament again on one day, with three different age categories (U8-U10 / U12-U14 / U16-U20).
